Eesti väiksus ja eestlaste piiratus avaldub teinekord selles, et mõeldakse end originaalseks. See on mingi rahvuslik haigus, et kõik head ideed ja suurepärased lahendused on ise väljamõeldud.
Näiteks see kuidas tihtilugu kasutatakse videot tantsu- või teatrietenduste sees, veebidisainist rääkimata. Paljud tegijad on kindlad, et nemad on esimesed, kes maailmale midagi sellist "enneolematut" pakuvad.
Ja siis ilmub kuskilt välja mõni "kriitik" ehk professionaal, kes väntsutab nina ja ütleb, et mujal maailmas tehti selliseid asju 20 aastat tagasi.
Ja kuigi kriitiku kriitika on täpne ja õige, siis avaldub temas iseäranis hästi teine eestlaslik eripära. Kritiseerida on alati kergem ja mõnusam kui näha head.
Vähem sotsiaalset rinnapunnitamist oleks soe ja raviv.
